Devon came to the New Forest for one night only! No-one else's food is more true to the place where they live, so this May the River Cottage boys, Steven and Gill, brought the flavours, landscapes and produce of Devon to the tables of Hartnett Holder & Co.

Gill Meller has been part of the River Cottage team for more than 10 years. Working closely with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Gill has been a major part of all of the activities at River Cottage including sourcing the ethically-produced and sustainable food, creating the ever changing menus and developing the successful cookery school. Steven Lamb is a serious expert in curing and smoking, and has also been part of the River Cottage team for over a decade!

Both Gill and Steven regularly appear on the TV series cooking alongside Hugh, contribute to the cookbooks and teach at the River Cottage Cookery School.

 

The menu would have looked at home in the River Cottage farm surroundings, a menu that displayed Hugh and his team’s passion for food integrity and consumption of local, seasonal produce.
