Living Longer, Stronger and Better
Thursday 21st May 2026 9:30am-12:30pm or 1:30pm-4:30pm
Join Justin Pimm, our head of fitness, and our fitness experts at Lime Wood for two informative and empowering workshops exploring the importance of strength training for women. During these sessions, our team will discuss why women should not shy away from the gym and the many health benefits of lifting weights, particularly as we age.
‘Women are not small men’ - this session will explain everything you need to know about strength training specifically for women and how to thrive as we get older. After a welcome drink, our experts will lead a one-hour discussion before moving into practical tips and demonstrations with members of the Lime Wood fitness team.
The three-hour session will conclude with a 30-minute Q&A and practical takeaways. All attendees will also receive a 30-minute personal training voucher in the newly refurbished Lime Wood Gym with one of our trainers to help get you started on your journey to living longer and stronger. (Vouchers will be valid for two months from 1st June - 31st July 2026. Personal training sessions can be booked at Lime Wood independently of being a spa member and are subject to availability).
The practical part of each session will include working in pairs on:
- Squats (resistance and weight-bearing exercise)
- Deadlift Technique (strength training for bone and muscle health)
- Step-ups (weight-bearing and functional strength)
- Push-ups (upper-body strength and bone health)
- Skipping or hopping (bone density and cardiovascular health)
Please note that this workshop is suitable for those age 18 and over. Please arrive to check-in with Herb House reception 15 minutes before your session begins. You are encouraged to take part in the practical session, so please wear suitable gym clothing and footwear.

Moth and Nature Morning
Join Mollie from Four Acre Farm from 10am-12pm on Sunday 31st May at Lime Wood for an exciting morning exploring the fascinating world of moths in the Raw & Cured Garden.
We’ll begin by checking the moth traps set the night before, identifying the species discovered and learning more about these delicate and often overlooked creatures - from their life cycles to the plants they depend on. This interactive, hands-on experience is perfect for curious minds of all ages. Afterwards, enjoy pastries and refreshments at Raw & Cured.
Moths are often overshadowed by their butterfly cousins, yet they play an essential role in pollination and supporting biodiversity. With more than 2,500 species found across the UK, they are a vital part of our ecosystem. This event offers a wonderful opportunity to discover their diversity, life cycles and ecological importance in an engaging and immersive setting.
