Justin - Head of Fitness

About Me

I have a BSc (Hons) first class degree in Strength & Conditioning Science from St. Mary’s University. I'm passionate about movement biomechanics and functional fitness. Originally from South Africa, I come from a sporting family and having competed to county level in both cricket and tennis I’ve always been into training and continually striving to be the best version of myself as possible.

My Approach

Health, fitness and well-being should be a lifestyle – not a finite endpoint. At the heart of my ethos is that training should be fun and enjoyable, that way it becomes a continual part of your lifestyle and you avoid extreme fluctuations in your approach to staying fit

Specialisms & Qualifications

I specialise in rehab/prehab, movement biomechanics and functional fitness. I'm an FRC (Functional Range Conditioning) Master practitioner as well as an accredited UKSCA (UK Strength & Conditioning) member.

What Got Me Into Fitness

I have always been a self-confessed sport nut: tennis, golf, cricket, running, skiing, you name it I’ve probably tried it or willing to give it a go. This obsession for sport ultimately lead me into the fitness world and staying healthy.

Outside the Gym

I spend most of my time with my family and my two children - helping coach my son's Football and Cricket teams and helping my daughter with her gymnastics.

Kim - Senior Personal Trainer

How would you describe your philosophy on fitness and wellbeing? Do you specialise in anything?

Physical fitness is a state of health and well-being, achieved through good nutrition, moderate to vigorous exercise and sufficient rest. This for me equals wellness and happiness, mentally and physically. A lifetime in fitness has given me the opportunity to experience most fitness trends. My favourite being strength training and Pilates, but I also enjoy teaching boxing and Yoga amongst other training methods.

What inspired you to get into fitness?

My biggest inspirations are my parents, who live in Austria and at the age of 80 still head to the gym frequently. After studying classic dance and fitness for many years in Austria, I moved to England. After taking my exams for sports therapy and massage I decided to stay in the UK. After 35 years in the fitness industry, I am still very passionate about improving and helping my clients reach their goals.

What do you get up to when not in lycra?

I spend all my time with my six-year-old son who we home-educate. He fills my diary outside the gym. We are usually found outdoors, either in the beautiful New Forest or our local beach. When at home gaming or reading books.

Alex - Senior Personal Trainer

About Me

I enlisted into the Royal Artillery and passed the All-Arms Commando Course (one of the world’s toughest military courses!) in 1995, serving with 29 Commando Regiment RA. During my service, I completed the PTI Class 3 course (Physical Training Instructor) and prepared recruits for both Para and Commando selection. In my final years of service with 32 Regt RA, I looked after the rehab needs of my unit.

My Approach

I believe that a fully holistic approach to fitness, nutrition and wellbeing is needed. It’s important to embrace our ancestors and environment to reap the benefit and the wonders of the world around us.

Specialisms & Qualifications

I specialise in Functional Patterns, Human Mechanics and Movement, including Barefoot. I also practice sports therapy/rehab and massage.

What Got Me Into Fitness

My military background.

Outside the Gym

When I’m not working, I’m either out on the water on my SUP board, skiing at Snowtrax, coaching friends and family or just enjoying myself. My family and I love being out in the forest or the beach enjoying the wilds and wonders around us. I also enjoy travelling, from Finish Lapland in the depths of winter and warmer places such as Morocco and Greece.

Flossie- Senior Personal Trainer

About Me

I have a background in gymnastics, but I found myself progressing through the England hockey pathway. I started out playing for Hampshire and, after several years of trials, secured a place in the England U18 squad for the Home Nations tournament. Playing at Lilleshall was an eye-opening experience that taught me the foundations of athleticism and professionalism in the industry.

My Approach

My philosophy of fitness goes far beyond appearances. For me, exercise is about overall wellness, including mental wellbeing. Fitness means looking after your body and, just as importantly, listening to it. Working out should be fun and enjoyable, as well as a challenge.

Specialisms & Qualifications

Whether you want to grow muscle, feel more confident or need assistance with rehab or prehab, I will make it my goal to achieve your goal.

What Got Me Into Fitness

Fitness has been a dominant part of my life from a young age. My hunger for success began at the age of 8, when I competed in artistic gymnastics. As I grew older, I began to outgrow gymnastics and found myself progressing through the England hockey pathway.

Outside the Gym

When I’m not at work, you’ll probably find me at the beach, swimming, surfing, running, or walking my dog. I also set my own fitness goals at the gym. Being outdoors in the elements is my idea of heaven.

Charlotte - Senior Personal Trainer

About Me

I love trialling and testing new ways of looking after myself in order to be able to pass this onto others. I love being with people and forever learning new skills and knowledge.

My Approach

My philosophy on fitness is about bringing every element of overall health together to complete the jigsaw puzzle, focusing on movement, functional strength, wellbeing, and nutrition to help you feel your best.

Specialisms & Qualifications

With over 10 years of experience working in a medical spa, I specialise in gut health, prevention, nutrition, and addressing multiple aspects of the body - inside and out - to help reset and re-energise. I also focus extensively on neuro-sensory stimulation and barefoot movement.

What Got Me Into Fitness

I have always had an interest in sports and activities. My passion developed more over time with personal life experiences.

Outside the Gym

In my spare time, I love being outdoors, enjoying early morning walks along the seafront and exercising in the fresh air. I play the saxophone and have a passion for music and dancing. Movement and music make me happy! I also enjoy cooking, having grown up in a family restaurant.
