The Forest Kitchen

Picture yourself on a sun-dappled Sunday at Lime Wood, nestled within our beautiful grounds, enjoying exceptional food, acoustic music and the laid-back atmosphere that defines summer here.

We’re firing up with our very own Angela Hartnett and Luke Holder, starting on 8th June. On select Sundays throughout the season, Luke and Angela have invited a lineup of their talented friends to take over the Asado grill. Each guest chef will be working the flames in our brand-new HH&Co Forest Kitchen, as part of an exciting series of pop-up lunches.

Cooking over the Asado wood-fired grill, each chef will bring their own personality to the dishes, delivering mouth-watering food and bold flavours. It’s the perfect way to savour the best of summer in the New Forest.

To kick off the Forest Kitchen pop-up series, we’re thrilled to have our very own Angela Hartnett, Luke Holder and the HH&Co team at the helm. Expect dishes smoked over vines and a menu bursting with Italian influence, bringing both Angela and Luke’s signature styles to the grill. Earth, Fire & Feast with Valentine Warner and Julius Roberts

Sunday 29th June

In June, the Forest Kitchen brings an exciting collaboration between Julius Roberts and Valentine Warner, both true champions of nature’s pantry. Julius, a true advocate for sustainable farming, with a highly engaged following and a true farm-to-table chef. Valentine, a master of wild ingredients,  most likely gathered from his immediate surroundings. Together, they will combine their talents to create a menu that celebrates the raw, untamed flavours of the wild land, showcasing dishes that embody the essence of the natural world.

Meat, Fire & Feast with Jorge Paredes from OMA

Sunday 13th July

We’re thrilled to welcome Ecuadorian chef Jorge Paredes in July to take over the Asado grill. Formerly of Sabor in Mayfair and currently head chef of Michelin-starred Greek inspired restaurant OMA, Jorge brings his signature style of seasonal fire cooking and bold Mediterranean flavours to the forest.

Sunday 24th August

Coming to our Forest Kitchen in August Michelin-starred chef, Tom Brown. Originally from Cornwall, Tom, a protégé of acclaimed Cornish chef Nathan Outlaw, now leads Tom Brown at The Capital and launched his own venture in November 2023, the glorious Pearly Queen oyster bar and seafood restaurant in Shoreditch. His menu promises bold, fearless seafood dishes, showcasing exceptional quality.

Sunday 7th September

Jessica Filbey, chef at London’s Portobello Road hangout Canteen, is stepping in to take over our grill for one feast only. She’s trading her pasta rollers for open flame, bringing Canteen’s signature mix of casual elegance, seasonal precision, and unfussy brilliance to a menu built around smoke and indulgence. Expect serious heat, seasonal sides, and enough charred indulgence to make you forget this isn’t a long lunch on Portobello.

With long summer days on your side, there's no need to rush. Stay a little longer, soak up the sun, and savour everything Lime Wood has to offer.

Our outdoor bar will be open, where you can purchase drinks and keep the fun going into the evening.

If you’re not quite ready for the day to end, why not stay a little longer and turn your visit into an overnight escape. We're offering our Forest Kitchen guests the opportunity to stay with 10% off bed and breakfast for Sunday night. Got a question?

Where is the Forest Kitchen?

The Forest Kitchen is Lime Wood's outdoor (but fully covered) dining space, designed to bring you closer to nature, with stretched canvas overhead, floor to ceiling clear walls with views out across the lake and fields. Toilets are located a short stroll across the lawn into the main house.

What are the timings for the event?

Arrive from 2pm to enjoy an aperitif, before sitting down at 2:45pm to enjoy your fire-cooked feast. The event will end at approximately 6pm. You're welcome to stay on after the event to enjoy some drinks on the terrace and lawn. Kindly note, drinks will be available for purchase during this time.

What will the menu be?

Each event will showcase a four-course seasonal menu, beginning with nibbles crafted by our guest chef and the HH&Co Team. This will be followed by a starter and main course, thoughtfully curated by our guest chef, and a delicious dessert created by the HH&Co Team.

What is the seating layout?

Due to the style and nature of the event, guests will be seated on one of our sharing tables. This means guests may be seated alongside others who may not be in their party.

Will you cater for dietary requirements?

While we strive to accommodate all dietary preferences and restrictions, please note that due to the nature of our Forest Kitchen events, we may not be able to fully cater to every individual requirement. We kindly suggest that guests select the event, chef and concept that best aligns with their dietary needs for the most enjoyable experience. An alternative will be available that is both vegan and gluten free however we would ask that you let us know in advance if you or your guests require this option.

Can I bring my dog?

While we love our furry friends, please note that the Forest Kitchen event is not pet-friendly. We hope you understand and look forward to welcoming you.

Where should I park?

Parking is available in the main Lime Wood car park. We will have overflow parking available on the day should this be required.

What happens if it rains?

The Forest Kitchen is fully covered and will continue in the event of rain.

Is the event suitable for children?

Please note that the Forest Kitchen is designed for adults only (18+). We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you.

Is there a dress code?

At Lime Wood and HH&Co we want you to feel at home, so please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Bringing a warm layer is recommended whilst you enjoy the beautiful grounds of Lime Wood - after all the British weather can be slightly unpredictable!

What is the cancellation policy for tickets?

Tickets are fully refundable up until 7 days before the event. After this period, tickets are non-refundable. Please make sure to request a refund before the 7-day cut off if your plans do change.

Is the event accessible for guests with limited mobility?

The Hideout is equipped with a ramp to ensure easy access for all attendees. We are committed to making the event inclusive and welcoming for everyone.
