Feel good, super smoothies

Our creative chef Sheila Hulme works with her team in Raw & Cured to create delicious, fresh, and nutritious food and drinks to help you to feel your best.

If you find yourself creating the same smoothie at home time and time again and need a little inspiration, Sheila has shared two great recipes for you to whizz up from the comfort of your own kitchen.

Smoothies can be a great way to incorporate more healthy foods into your diet – perfect to kick start your day or as an afternoon snack, and drinking a colourful array of ingredients can provide you with lots of essential vitamins, minerals, fibre, and antioxidants.

Our creative team of chefs create everything from scratch using fresh, wholesome, and local produce – some very close to home! The two smoothies below actually include our beautiful mint and lavender that you might be able to spot in the Herb House roof garden the next time you visit us.

Blueberry Lavender

Blueberries are considered a super food; they are an excellent source of vitamin C and contain good amounts of soluble fibre which helps keep the digestive system happy.

  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon dried lavender
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Pinch salt

 What to do…

Blend all together in a high-speed blender until smooth and enjoy.

Grapefruit mint

Grapefruit contains a host of nutrients; they are a great source of vitamin A and are important in supporting the immune system to keep the eyes and skin healthy.

(Serves 2-4)

You'll need...

  • 2 grapefruits peeled
  • 2 bananas, frozen
  • 1-inch piece ginger
  • 1 cup mint
