The New Forest isn’t somewhere you have to drive to – it begins at the garden gate. Head out amongst ancient trees and free-roaming ponies, forage with our resident expert, try forest bathing, explore by bike or simply see where the path takes you.

Forest House is a five-bedroom house set within the grounds of Lime Wood in the New Forest. Sleeping up to ten guests, it combines the space and freedom of having a whole house to yourselves with everything you love about staying at Lime Wood close by, including breakfast, access to Herb House Spa, Hartnett Holder & Co and the hotel team to help shape your stay.
Forest House sleeps up to ten guests across five individually designed bedrooms, each with its own en-suite. There is also space for up to two cots, making it a great choice for families, multi-generational stays, groups of friends and celebrations in the New Forest.
Absolutely. Forest House has been designed as a place to gather, whether that’s for a big birthday, anniversary, family celebration, reunion, special weekend with friends or simply an excuse to get everyone together. The kitchen, dining and living spaces make it easy to spend time together, while five bedrooms give everyone their own space at the end of the day.
Yes. Forest House has its own outdoor swimming pool, open from April to September. The pool sits within the garden and terrace and is for the exclusive use of Forest House guests during their stay. During the winter months, the pool is closed and covered.
Yes. The garden looks out towards the open New Forest, with a gate leading you straight out into the forest. From morning walks and runs to family adventures and long rambles, the New Forest is quite literally on your doorstep, complete with ancient trees and the occasional free-roaming pony.
Yes. Up to two dogs are welcome to stay at Forest House, making it a particularly lovely option for a dog-friendly break in the New Forest. With direct access from the garden into the forest, there are plenty of walks waiting just beyond the gate.
A stay at Forest House includes a stocked pantry, breakfast and full access to Lime Wood and Herb House Spa. Our team can also help arrange experiences, dining and special touches throughout your stay.
Yes. Forest House has a kitchen and relaxed dining space, so you can make yourselves completely at home. You can cook for yourselves, ask us about food prepared by the Lime Wood team, or make an occasion of it with a specially arranged hosted dining experience. Hartnett Holder & Co is also just a stroll through the grounds when you fancy heading out for dinner.
Yes. With five bedrooms, peaceful communal spaces, a private garden and outdoor pool, direct access to the New Forest and Herb House Spa close by, Forest House lends itself beautifully to wellness retreats. Forest House sits within the grounds of Lime Wood, giving you the feeling of having your own place tucked away by the forest while keeping the hotel within easy reach - approximately a five minute walk.
Forest House has a minimum stay of three nights, with longer minimum stays applying at selected peak periods. We want guests to have time to properly settle in and experience the house in full.

Forest House gives you the independence of having an entire house to yourselves, including your own kitchen, but it isn't positioned as a traditional self-catering holiday rental. You are still very much a Lime Wood guest, with breakfast, Herb House Spa access and the hotel on your doorstep, plus our team available to help with dining, experiences and your plans throughout the stay.
