Hartnett Holder & Co is a relaxed and comfortable restaurant - full of character and relaxed in style. Led by Angela Hartnett and Lime Wood’s Luke Holder, the team creates Italian-inspired dishes using the best local ingredients, with a respectful nod to the seasons.
Expect a menu that brings together both chefs’ much-admired signature styles - Italian-influenced, seasonal, and bursting with flavour.

In Italian, Pranzetto means a light, leisurely lunch - simple, unhurried, and full of flavour. That spirit runs through our set lunch menu at Hartnett Holder & Co, rooted in seasonality and designed to celebrate the best ingredients from forest, farm and sea.
As we move into late spring, the kitchen is full of energy. Early harvests are now in full swing, with tender greens, bright herbs and vibrant vegetables bringing freshness, colour and a natural lightness to the menu.

Our set lunch menu is available for tables of up to 8 guests, available Monday to Friday lunchtime, excluding bank holidays and select blackout dates such as Christmas and New Year.
Sundays at Hartnett Holder & Co are made for proper roasts and long, lazy lunches. Think Glenarm Estate sirloin and slow-cooked short rib, whole roasted lemon sole, or crispy roasted Quarr Cross chicken - all served with golden roasties, giant Yorkshire puds, seasonal veg, cauliflower cheese topped with fresh parmesan, and plenty of rich gravy.
And don’t even think about skipping pudding, go classic with our Bigné di San Giuseppe (the best profiteroles you’ve had in a while), or our famous creamy tiramisu with sweet ricotta, coffee and mascarpone. Sundays done right.

Luke has worked in some of London’s busiest and most exclusive kitchens, including Orrery, The Sloane Club, and the Oxo Tower on the South Bank.
He then spent a year in the Italian kitchen of Enoteca Pinchiorri, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Florence, Tuscany - this experience ultimately changed his philosophy on food forever and firmly placed his focus on cooking locally and seasonally, at the highest level.
Angela is one of the UK’s most respected and loved chefs. She trained under Gordon Ramsay at Aubergine and then under Marcus Wareing, quickly rising to become Head Chef at Pétrus. Angela earned her first Michelin star in 2004, before launching Murano in Mayfair in 2008.
In 2012, she joined forces with Luke Holder to open Hartnett Holder & Co, followed by Cafe Murano, her relaxed brasserie-style concept, which expanded to three locations by 2019. In 2015, Angela brought her expertise to our sister hotel in the Alps, Portetta in Courchevel, where she oversees the kitchen of Cucina Angelina.

At the heart of Lime Wood, The Courtyard is where it all begins. Whether it’s arrival drinks, pre-dinner tipples or a sun-drenched lunch, it’s the perfect spot to settle in and slow down. With its retractable glass roof flooding the space with natural light, this elegant yet relaxed setting shifts with the seasons, offering a breezy escape in summer and a cosy retreat in the winter.
If you’re joining us for lunch or dinner, why not arrive a little earlier? Take a moment for a spritz, a glass of fizz, or something from our cocktail list before heading through to the restaurant. And after your meal, return for a nightcap under the stars by soft candlelight, letting the evening linger.
Tucked under the brow of a hill, Lime Wood’s Smoke House is where our chefs develop and refine flavours throughout the seasons.
Our head chef Luke Holder and his team of Chefs are all regular visitors to the Smoke House. Working alongside ChalkStream Trout, where the fish are reared in the pristine crystal-clear waters of the world-famous chalk streams here in Hampshire, we have developed an exclusive growing program for the trout, that we believe has led to an even better taste and texture.
Unlike most farmed trout, the trout at Lime Wood, developed by ChalkStream, is a long, slow grow, taking around 2.5-3 years for the trout to reach 5kg in weight and size. This longer growing period allows the true flavour of the trout to shine through. With the exceptional water quality and the locality, we believe we have a world class product for you to enjoy.
With its traditional vaulted ceiling, our Wine Cellar is a true haven for wine buffs. Home to a collection that has been meticulously built over many years, our list celebrates both classic producers and exciting new discoveries, with the selection refreshed daily by our sommelier.
We are also delighted to present our own Hartnett Holder & Co wines, lovingly crafted in collaboration with the Fertuna Estate in Maremma, Tuscany, a project that brings our passion for provenance and character into every bottle.
